Giving Back. This is something we've been thinking a lot about at Sea Star Beachwear; how we can give back, and how we can try to make a difference. Thankfully, we found our stars. With the help of Village Health Works, Sea Star Beachwear was able to donate our beachcombers to a sewing cooperative in Burundi, Africa.

Village Health Works is an organization who’s mission is "to provide quality, compassionate healthcare in a dignified environment while also addressing the root causes of illness, poverty, violence, and neglect". Their mission is separated into 5 categories that allows them to to target illness, poverty, violence, and neglect from every aspect of Burundi's society.

Our shoes were donated to the local hospital and a sewing cooperative, which provides training for vulnerable community members-in particular women who have experienced gender based violence. This cooperative provides community members with a source of income and economic empowerment, while offering a safe space for friendship.
